Introduction: Invasive species are nonnative plants and animals which thrive outside of their natural range and perhaps harm or endanger native plants and animals. As manufacturers and consumers in the global society, we influence and are affected by species introduced accidentally or intentionally to a region. At present, some people argue for stricter regulations of imported species to avaiod possibility of untended negative consequences. Others, though, claim that economies and basic resources of poorer nations could be enhanced by selective importation of nonnative species.
